Antoine De Saint Exupery is indeed a wise man: The Little Prince is one of the best books I've read.

And I can't disagree that the first step is to create in them a yearning for the sea. And sending them out to gather wood and ordering them to tasks is not the complete way to go.

And I'm sure we agree that it would be a good idea, once the yearning were ingrained, to teach them some ship-building skills.
