What is all this?

I began blogging in October of 2003 under the masthead Mr. Standfast (582 posts). Taking the name of a character from Pilgrim's Progress reflected my interest in literature as well as my faith in Jesus. These formed the twining subjects of all my blogging.

In 2005 I continued under a new title, gratitude and hoopla (260 posts), and then in September of 2006, in its current iteration as Wilderness Fandango. But through it all my modus operandi has been the same, as represented by the words of G. K. Chesterton:
"Nothing taken for granted; everything received with gratitude; everything passed on with grace."
"Everything," in this case, means my occasional thoughts on the Christian faith, old movies, the books I'm reading, music (mostly Americana), poetry, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I'll share my discoveries, keep the ranting to a minimum, and try to learn something along the way.
