Eric Clapton. He really is the King of the Strat. I love the passion he brings to everything he does, and the sheer joy of music-making he demonstrates every time he steps on stage. And I admire his ensemble-ethic, rare in the world of rock stardom.

I agree with what you said. Plus, Clapton is aging well. He's apparently outgrown the need to express himself with his hair or clothing and has entered the self-actualized realm of many bluegrass players who express themselves not with a stage presence but with their music. Plus, he's one of the few LA types who seems to have avoided botox, facelifts, etc. In short, he appears to be embracing the poise and wisdom of age.
No doubt. He always seems like a real person, not some construct of public relations. And he is utterly committed to the music, not to being a star. Never upstages his bandmates or hogs the spotlight, and always assembles a kicki' band! Give me Geezer-rock any day!
