4 things

1. In Sinclair Ferguson's message entitled The Tongue, the Bridle, and the Blessing: An Exposition of James 3:1-12, which I've listened to twice now and can't stop thinking about, he uses a phrase that has been singing in my ears ever since. He speaks of "doing the Spiritual thing naturally and doing the natural thing Spiritually." Is that not one of the best and most succinct and yet thorough descriptions of the life we aspire to as Christians that you have ever heard? BTW, I'm going to listen to the whole message at least once more. Sinclair Ferguson rocks.

2. I think I want to read Mark Driscoll's new book, Death by Love.

3. Read, oh, maybe the last eight posts of Jared's at Gospel Driven Church. Here are 3 brief samples.

From The Attractional Horror of the Cross:
Christ crucified gets my attention. It's when he bids me join him on the cross that I am tempted to walk away.
From The Real Litmus Test for Your Worship Service:
Is your church focusing on Jesus this morning? (A mention isn't an automatic yes to the question.)If not: What are you going to do about it?
And from Challenge to the Church: Renounce Self
The message of self-empowerment is the antithesis of the gospel and must be challenged.
4. David the Jollyblogger said, "getting the gospel into the church is an even greater priority than getting it into the world."

You betcha.

I'm reading Death By Love now. It is really good - one of Driscoll's best.
